    Notes
    • The 1900 US Census lists two sons named Michael born in PA; one born in 1877 and the other in 1893. Inexplicably, the same census also lists two sons named John born in PA: one born in 1880 and the other in 1886. While that might suggest a melded family, that is refuted by the fact that Michael & Mary were married for 36 years and the census expressly documents that Mary was the mother of 9 children - all living at home. Interestingly, Mary would have been a 13-year old when she married her then 14-year old husband!
