DEATH 0F J. H. TIER THIS AFTERNOON
Son of Former Freeholder Tier
Succumbs to Long Illness
John H. Tier. Jr., fifty-two year.
of age, died at his late residence on
Bank Place at 1:15 this afternoon
from a complication of diseases. He
was the son of the lato John H. and
Gertrude Tier, of this city, and was
well known to nearly all Plainfleld
residents.
Mr. Tier has been ill for nearly
three years and was obliged to take
to his bed about three weeks ago.
He began to grow weaker all the Urne
and his death was looked tor by
those of his family
For many years Mr. Tier was as
sociated with his father in the Ice
cream business, his father being one
of the first to have an Ice wagon
route.
Mr. Tier was one of two sous of
former Freeholder and Mrs. John H.
Tier. The survivtug son Is William
N. Tier, who Is now, and has been
for many years, in the Ice cream bus
mess.
The father, who was a pIoneer
market man in Plainfleld, was one
of the best known citizens In ht.’
day. His sons, John H., and William
N.. were always associated with him
lu the ice and Ice cream business.
The deceased was a member of’
Perseverance Lodge. No. 74. K. of
P., and of the Uniformed Rank, K.
of P. He leaves, besides his wife,
tour daughter., all members of Trin
