Thomas J. Payne, formerly of Chicago, was buried from the home of his son-in-law, Walter G. Dixon, East Biddle street, at three o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Washington R. Laird, Ph.D., pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, conducted the services, and Captain John Clark, of Company I, Sixth Regiment, N.G.P., sang two solos, "Jesus Lover of My Soul" and "Abide with Me". Interment was made at Greenmount Cemetery. The bearers were: Levis P. Marshall, William P. Lear, Caleb C. Lear, Samuel R. Ogden, Joseph M. Limberger, Alvin Allen. Daily Local News
