Arthur C. Carr, Civil Engineer
Arthur C. Carr, 70, husband of Gertrude A. Carr of 88 Warren St., Nutley, died in his home on Saturday after a long illness. He was a civil engineer having been associated with the Pullman Company for 40 years before retiring in June of this year. Born In Paterson. he was the son of the late William Seward and Eliza Donnelly Carr. He resided in Bloomfield the greater part of his life before moving to Nutley three years ago. He was a member of St. Mary’s R. C. Church, Nutley, a charter member of Paterson Lodge 80, B.P.O. of Elks, Bloomfield Council No. 1178 K. of C., Father Isaac Jogues Assembly Fourth Degree K. of C., and the Pennsylvania-Long Island Railroads Unit of the Holy Name Society. The funeral will be held from the funeral home, 976 Broad St., Newark, on Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock. A Solemn High Requiem Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s R. C. Church, Nutley, at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in Holy Sepúlchre Cemetery, East Orange. Surviving are his widow, Gertrude Brennan Carr, one daughter Mrs. Charles Koch, Jr. of Nutley; one son, Arthur R. Carr of Belleville; four sisters, Mrs. Joseph P. Chapman of Paterson: Mrs. C. Carr Stallard of Glen Rock, Mrs. Clarence F. Schenck of W1nhester, Va., and Mrs. John R. Pyle of Schenectady. N.Y.; two brothers. Louis D. Carr of Jersey City and H. Parke Carr, of Paterson: one grandson and six granddaughters.
