Buried in an unmarked grave (not sure what cemetery in Farmer Branch). My Dad's twin brother swears that he is buried in Grapevine, Texas and not at Farmers Branch. Farmers Branch is a very old town, as old if not older than the city of Dallas. (unknown author)
Bounty & Donation Land Grants of Texas 1835-1888 Houston, Texas Library. Received Don Cert 174 for 640 Acres from A G on 28 Dec 1849 for being in the Siege of Bexar. 640 Acres in Palo Pinto County. (Not sure of kinship of this Daniel Shipman, could be an uncle)
From Fannin County of Texas History - "Daniel Shipman planted two acres of corn on Martin Varner's land at West Columbia in Grayson County, the first planted by a white man in Texas. Later Mr. Varner established the first distillery in Texas."[Scott 2701717.FTW]
