 | Tier, George: 1870 Census George (49) was shown living in Patterson, NJ with his wife Hannah (Bartine, 40) and their seven children: Elenor (20), Emeline (18), Hannah Jane (14), Katherine (11), James (9), Ida (6) and Charles (3). George was a machinist and the four oldest daughters (to include ages 11 and 14!) were working in the silk mill or factory. |
