New York Steam Corporation; he was working in Manhattan with the unit named Consolidated Edison Steam Operations also known as Con Edison or ConEd.
WIKI: "Con Edison's electric business also dates back to 1882, when Thomas Edison’s Edison Illuminating Company of New York began supplying electricity to 59 customers in a square-mile area in lower Manhattan. After the "war of currents", there were more than 30 companies generating and distributing electricity in New York City and Westchester County. But by 1920 there were far fewer, and the New York Edison Company (then part of Consolidated Gas) was clearly the leader. In 1936, with electric sales far outstripping gas sales, the company incorporated and the name was changed to Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. The years that followed brought further amalgamations as Consolidated Edison acquired or merged with more than a dozen companies between 1936 and 1960." |

Occupation |
In 1930 Perry was noted as the chief draftsman for Consolidated Edison in NYC. His obituary showed him as a civil engineer. Pierre, according to his daughter, was known as "Mr. Steam" because of his vast knowledge of that city-wide system.
RJCarr/2009: [A query sent to ConEd was returned w/o confirmation of Pierre's employment.
"Consolidated Edison (Con Ed) of New York operates the largest district heating system ever built (apart from those in centrally-planned economies, i.e. the former communist states). The system has operated continuously since March 1882 and serves Manhattan Island from the Battery through 96th Street, in addition to providing space and water heating. Steam from the system is used in numerous restaurants for food preparation as well as to power absorption and steam-turbine chillers for air conditioning." WIKI. |

Notes |
- RJCarr: He once grabbed a small oscillating fan as it fell out a window where it had been placed to condition the hot, city apartment. In so grabbing the metal fan, a blade clipped a tendon of a finger leaving the finger bent at permanent right-angle. The bend kept the young grandchildren fascinated.
His daughter Jeanne's children gave him his nickname "Happy Days" because that was his nightly toast at the cocktail hour. His usual drink was a martini.
