- RJCarr on 26 Feb 2018: It is an assumption that Alexander Wilson in this household is a brother of Agnes (Wilson) Carr. Because his relationship is assumed, no further effort has been made to expand his family on the subsequent census.
On the other hand, James Carney suggests that Agnes' maiden name was McFarland.

I am looking for information regarding Adam Carr. He was born approximately 1831 in Forfarshire, Scotland (according to family tradition). He had arrived in Paterson, NJ by 1850 as he was listed in the census with a James Carr. He stayed in Paterson for the rest of his life. According to the 1870 census, he had 4 children:Ada(b. 1852), William(b. 1855), Ella(b. 1863), Henry(b. 1865). According to family tradition his name had been Kerr before he immigrated, his father's name was Adam Kerr as well, and his mother's maiden name was McFarland.
Thanks for the help.
