Boquel, Francis: 1895 Obituary

Francis Boquel an old time resident of the town and one of its first settlers passed away on last Saturday. The deceased was a resident of France and emigrated to this county thirty-five years ago. After landing to New York he soon obtained employment in a plate glass works after which the completion of the plant of the Lehigh Zinc Co., he relocated here. On March 13, 1865, he enlisted in the Regiment No. 88 of Penna Volunteers and was honorably discharged in the 30th of the following June. After his return home he was employed until 1869 at the zinc works after which he took up his residence in St. Louis, Mo., where he accepted a position. For several years past he has led a retired life and at his death was 68 years, 7 months, and 22 days of age. Besides his widow, five children, Joseph, Francis, August Peter, and Adele survive. The funeral will take place tomorrow and services will be held in the Church of the Holy Infancy. Interment will be made in St. Michael's Cemetery.
