    Link to Google MapsObituary - Mrs. E. T. Heusser Dies In 88th Year Mrs. Emeline Tier Heusser, mother of the late Albert H. Heusser, Paterson historian and novelist, died Saturday night at St. Andrew's Home of Divine Providence, Paramus, after a long illness. She was 87. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. today at the M. J. Scanlan's Sons funeral home, 403 Market street and at the Park Avenue Baptist church a half hour later. Burial will follow in Cedar Lawn cemetery. (sisters and a brother.The inter- (sic)). Born in Windsor Locks, Connecticut in 1850, Mrs. Heusser was the daughter of George Tier and Hannah Jane Bartine, descendants of early American stock. She lived the major portion of her life in this city and was the oldest member of the Park Avenue Baptist church. She was baptized in that church in 1870 by the Rev. S. J. Knapp when the Eastside institution was named the Willis Street Baptist church. In 1884, she was married in the same church by the Rev. George Guitrie, to Albert Heusser. Their only son, Albert H., author of several books on Paterson history and founder of the Passaic County Historical society, died in 1929.     Link to Google MapsObituary - Funeral Rites Are Held For Mrs. E. A. Heusser Trustees and officers of the Park Avenue Baptist church headed by E. R. Greenwood served as the pallbearers for Mrs. Emeline A. Tier Heusser, on Monday afternoon. The funeral cortege left the M. J. Scanlan's Sons, (sic) home at 403 Market street at 2 o’clock and a half hour 1ater the Rev. Leonard A. Clayton, (sic) conducted the last rites in the Park Avenue Baptist church, of which she had been a member for many years. Interment was made in Cedar lawn cemetery. Mrs. Heusser was the widow of Albert Heusser and mother of the late Albert H. Heusser, well known local historian who passed away in this city, Jan. 3, 1929. Mrs. Heusser was born in Windsor Locks, Conn., Dec. 2, 1850. She married in the Park Avenue Baptist church, June 6, 1884, when it was the old Willis Street church.
