    Link to Google MapsObituary - Glenn P. Scott CANTON - Services for Glenn Park Scott, 77, Canton, are pending with Eubank Funeral Home, Canton. Mr. Scott died Saturday night at his residence after an unexpected illness. He was born June 1, 1913, at Wills Point. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Canton, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He operated the Piggly Wiggly store in Canton for a number of years before retiring in 1973. Mr Scott was a native and lifelong resident of Van Zandt County. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Melverna Allen Scott, Canton; one son, Glen Allen Scott, Austin one daughter, Martha Scott, Washington, D.C.; and two sisters, Flora Terry, Canton, and Ilene Sharp, Friendswood.     Link to Google MapsObituary - Glenn P. Scott CANTON — Services for Glenn Park Scott. 77, Canton, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday in Eubank Funeral Home chapel in Canton with the Rev. Charles Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Memories Memorial Park Cemetery near Canton. Mr. Scott died Saturday at his residence after a brief illness. He was born Jun. 1, 1913, in Wills Point and was a resident of Canton since 1937. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton and a deacon for 38 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and advanced to the rate of Chief Pharmacist Mate in the Hospital Corps. He was a member of Castillian (sic) Lodge No. 141 AF&AM and operated the P1UI, Wiggly Grocery Store in Canton for 25 years after he served as store manager and funeral director for Eubank Bros. in both Canton and Wills Point. He was a longtime member and past president of the Lions Club. He was preceded in death by his son Richard Scott. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Melverna Allen Scott, Canton; one son and daughter-in-law, Glenn Allen and Iris Scott, Austin; one daughter, Martha Scott, Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Flora Terry, Canton, Ilene Sharp, Friendswood, and Lilla May Swindall, San Angelo; and two granddaughters, Lisa Scott and Michelle Scott, both of Austin. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of First Baptist Church of Canton.
